How To Start Passing Along Your Faith

Sharing about God and passing along our faith can seem scary and intimidating. If you’ve never shared your faith with others or if you have but it still causes you fear at times (which is most of us), today’s tip is designed to give you a tangible way to get started.

Today’s tip is:
Start passing along your faith by starting where you are and telling people your story.

You might be thinking, “That sounds great, but it’s not really the practical and helpful “how to” I was hoping for.” That’s understandable, but here’s what that tip means.

Begin passing along your faith and getting more comfortable sharing with others by starting to tell those closest to you about your relationship with God: what you love about Him, things He has done or is doing in your life, something new you’ve learned about Him or He’s taught you. These conversations don’t need to be anything formal, but just as you go about your day (like Deuteronomy 6 says). As you talk about your day, talk about God’s role in it too.

As you get comfortable having these types of conversations, start having them with other friends and people in your life. Build up your sharing muscles starting where you are. As we get used to having these types of conversations, it becomes more natural to us. The more we do this, the more it will start to become a part of our natural vocabulary and become easier to talk about with others who may not know God.
